Cruise was overall very nice. We have decided that NCL is our favorite line. Carnival being second and RCL being third. Only thing I don’t like is the fact that Harvest Caye requires money. It’s owned by NCL, so your room card should work in my opinion. That’s how it works on RCL at Coco Caye. That way your beverage package would work on the island. Other than that, I have no complaints.
Embarkation
3 out of 5
Typical embarkation, except we were scheduled to be at port at 10-10:30am, and for some reason boarding was delayed. I am sure it was Coast Guard related, however, I feel NCL should make an announcement instead of saying absolutely nothing. The terminal steadily filled up to standing room only. We were on board around noon.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Only ate at the buffet once. It was typical. Main doing rooms were great. Cagney’s and Teppenyaki were wonderful. Service in main dining room can be inconsistent as far as wait time however.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Enjoyed Deal or No Deal and lots of other activities around the ship.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The aerial/acrobatic show and the Legends Shie were absolutely outstanding. The band Sea Hashtag is horrible. Not worth your time in my opinion.
Children's Programs
4 out of 5
Didn’t use these. I’m sure they are fine.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Room Steward Michael was great. All staff for the most part very friendly and helpful
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Ship was always clean. Older ship but clean and very easy to get around.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Room was what we expected. Plenty of USB ports for charging. Bathroom is very small. Not sure how larger people maneuver in these. But it’s not like NCL can do anything about this. Overall no issues.
Harvest Cay is owned by the Belizean government, NCL paid to refurbish the island and did a fantastic job but it is owned and run by the government of Belize.. not Ncl
I've been on many NCL cruises, but not on the Pearl. Have not been to Harvest Cat but to Belizez. The only time we ate in the paid venue was in Cagneys in 2007 on the Norwegian Spirit to celebrate our birthdays and an anniversary.
