A Great Family Vacation

The Pearl is a great ship! Our kids enjoyed the 10-12 year old kid's club and our teen enjoyed her club as well whereas on their first cruise, The Epic, they were a little intimidated at the number of people. I think now if they went on The Epic again that they would join in. We love the freestyle cruising concept with all the dining options, the shore excursions were top-notch, the shows were wonderful with great variety to choose from, and nothing was a letdown except for debarkation! Second time we have put a deposit down with Norwegian before leaving the ship.

Pros: Cruising Glacier Bay National Park

Cons: Getting off the ship :)

Recommends Norwegian Pearl? Yes!

Ship Quality
Love the ambiance of the ship. Only place we noticed got really busy was the card room/library which probably only happens on the Alaska itinerary when it is rainy outside.
Food and Dining
We didn't go to the specialty restaurants as much as we did on our prior cruise mainly because we just went where the kids wanted to go. We did notice it was never difficult to make a reservation for them. We have enjoyed the Italian\, the Brazilian\, and the steakhouse restaurants. I would say all are worth the surcharge. I don't recommend the pizza delivery. Delivery was fast with a late-night order; however\, the quality was not up to par with the pizza we had at La Cucina or the buffet.
Cabin / Stateroom
Loved the size of the Mini-Suite.
Service and Staff
While overall the staff quality was fine we did think this aspect is ramped up a notch on The Epic.
Norwegian's shows are the best! Great variety of music\, comedy\, and magic on our cruise. We enjoyed some things this cruise we had never experienced before such as the wine tasting musical.
Children's Programs
We could hardly tear our child away long enough to eat at the buffet. One of us started to sit with her while she ate to hear about her day before she raced back to the activities and then we would eat somewhere else later so we didn't have to always eat at the buffet! :)
