Would Not Recommend

Sail Date: April 01, 2011

Reviewed: 6 years ago

Traveled As: Singles/Friends

Room Type: Oceanview

Small oceanview stateroom, had fowl odors coming from the floor. Shower was clogged, nothing was fixed first time around by the staff. Specialty restaurants were very expensive. Both main dining rooms had same menus. Service in main dining took a long time, food sometimes arrived cold. Specialty food items are mostly located in expensive specialty restaurants onboard; Royal and Carnival usually have specialty items free in their main dining. Ship layout was confusing with very little ammenities. Excursions were pricey compared to Royal and Carnival. Definitely would not recommend this cruise line to past cruisers.

Pros: Quality of Food

Cons: Ship Layout, Price of Restaurants, Wait times in Main Dining, Small Stateroom, Poor Service

Recommends Norwegian Pearl? No.

Food and Dining
Still dont't understand freestyle dining. The restaurants and buffet all close at 10:30 and are not open 24/7. The only thing available was a very basic food menu for room service and a quick serve area which makes you sit and wait long times for your low-quality nighttime food items.
Ship Quality
Layout was confusing. Had many problems with the stateroom.
The only entertainment that seemed to be somewhat decent was a show by 2nd city out of Chicago, IL. The other on-stage performances lacked props and quality.
Service and Staff
Most staff members seemed friendly however, alot of waiters had complained they were not getting enough sleep and seemed to be overworked. Some had dark circles under eyes for working multiple shifts without rest.
Cabin / Stateroom
Size of stateroom very small for a oceanview. Had no couch or sofa. Only area to sit or watch tv was mostly the beds. Amenities and comfort ranked very low on this ship.
