The NCL Pearl is a Jewel Class ship in the NCL fleet and well designed for Freestyle cruising. We loved taking this ship from Seattle to Juneau, Skagway, Ketchikan, Glacier Bay, and Victoria, BC. The weather was fantastic and we could not have asked for a better family vacation. The day in Glacier Bay was magical. It is an incredible place and the clear skies, warm weather in the 70's, and natural sights made it a day I will never forget. It was a cruise that just got better and better.

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Dining options are fantastic on the NCL Pearl. The main dining rooms were good. We prefer to eat in the speciality dining and the Pearl offers many choices. The meals were excellent and the service was as well. Menus items were excellent. There is something for everyone. We even enjoyed a great dinner in the buffet one evening. This is a first for us! Cagney's, Le Bistro, Shabu-Shabu, and La Cucina were all excellent meals and exceptional service!

Shows were excellent, especially Headliner acts. There was a varitey of things to do all the time. I cannot see how anyone would be board on this ship!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All of the staff we encountered made it their job to be sure we had what we needed for a fantastic cruise. The management and staff should be commended for this! The crew worked as a team and went out of their way to be sure we were enjoying our meals, accomodations, and activities. We could not have been more pleased with the service actually.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Ship was clean, public areas well decorated and layout was good. I thought that the ship handled the 3000 plus passengers well and never felt that it was too crowded. The Garden Cafe, Great Outdoors, and pool buffet areas were a big improvement from the older NCL ships. The pool area is also nice and I liked the open deck areas as well. I think that the ship is the perfect size at just over 93,000 tons.

Cabin / Stateroom

Balcon cabin was great. The balacony was huge and the great weather menat that we were out on it frequently. The cabin offers good storage.

We had an excellent day on the Bering Sea Crab fisherman's Tour. We saw seals, crabs, and Eagles. It was a bright and sunny 80 degrees!
Don't Miss: Bering Sea Crab Fisherman's Tour

Pros: Ship, Alaska, Glacier Bay

Cons: we had to leave
