It would have to be disappointing. This was our first Cruise on both the Pearl and with NCL. The biggest disappointment was the Crew's attitude. Having been on a number of other cruises we have become accustom to smiling faces and cheerful crew members which is in stark contrast to what we found on this ship. Doing the minimum seemed to be the standard of the crew.

We heard many times how a few of the restaurants charged a nominal fee many times. As it turns out 8 of the 12 restaurants charge fees that range from $10.00 to $25.00 per person. Perhaps someone at NCL needs to go back to math class; three quarters is not a few. Other issues we had with the Cruise include, we ordered room service twice; both times the order arrived incomplete, only once during the entire cruise did someone come to our table and offer to refill our drinks, having to pay for coffee, tea and juices if ordered in the bars, casino, or quite areas.

A number of the guest (about 10 of us) actually debated the reason why this ship had such poor service over dinner one night. We came to the conclusion the two most likely reasons for this were; the Crew was tired from doing the same trip over and over again or that there was no incentive for the crew to give good service due to NCLs police of forcing a $15.00 tip per person per day, the crew will get their tips no matter what (this was voted the most likely cause). The only people smiling or cheerful were the people trying to sell you something.

This was the first time we sprang for a suite but we also had people in our party with inside cabins. We were all happy with our staterooms and the showers were big enought to turn around in!
