Pool and work out area were small for a ship of this size. Avoid getting off the ship in Samana. Food was slightly better than average. Stewards were incompetent and had no incentive to provide service as their tip is a given (automatically charged to your staterooms). Balcony Suites are nice, but quite cramped. I think NCL would charge for the breeze, if they could. Drinks are all overpriced and a 15% gratuity is ALWAYS added.

Food and Dining

Sushi bar is excellent value.

Its a cruise, not Vegas.

Children's Programs

Checked my 11 year old boy into his "club". Staff made kids watch Cinderella. My son amused himself with other boys at a table in the corner playing Blackjack.

Service and Staff

Stewards were horrible. Rest of the staff was adequate.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Newer ship launched in 2006.

Cabin / Stateroom

We were just forward of mid ship on 9th floor. Suites were tight for a newer ship. Stewards did a very poor job in cleaning, making-up and turning down rooms.

Pros: Sushi Bar, St Thomas Blaster tour

Cons: Stewards, service, Samana

Recommends Norwegian Pearl? No.
