Sail Date: January 06, 2008

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

The Norweigan Pearl is a clean, beautiful ship. We had a stateroom with a balcony that added significantly to our enjoyment. Most areas of interest were easily accessible both by stairs and elevators.

Pros: Turtles and Sting Rays

Cons: Another chance to participate in the Instant Win game! (at $20 a pop)

Recommends Norwegian Pearl? Yes!

Entertainment
Too many "opportunities" to participate in the Instant Win game. Too few free activities and long lines for those available. Need more active activities - shuffle board tournament perhaps, ocassional group walks or jogs. Fewer "parties" at which alcohol dominates.
Food and Dining
Shabu Shabu, one of the specialty resteraunts was excellent, but the food at the main dining rooms was very average - and served cool when it should have been served hot.
Ship Quality
Cabin / Stateroom
Great beds. Nice shower. Nearly useless television - hard to turn on and very few channels available. The balcony was great!
Service and Staff
Very friendly and helpful, though the cruise director and staff were a little overbearing.
George Town, Grand Cayman
We visited the Turtle farm and Sting Ray City. both were exciting ways to interact with sea creatures in a hands-on way. We needed more time at the Turtle Farm, but both visits were wonderful.
Don't Miss: Don't miss either the Turtle Farm or Sting Ray City!
Cozumel, Mexico
Too much time spend on encouraging commerce and not enough in Tulum. Tulum was fascinating, but the tour guide was only given 45 minutes to explain the ruins. Skip the "Mayan Cooperative" selling tourist trinkets and give us more time in Tulum with an well informed guide!
