Room Type: Inside

The Pearl is a new ship, so we were very impressed with her. Unfortunately, that was the only good part of our trip. The food and service on the ship were less than ordinary and freestyle dining is highly overrated. We can "freestyle" on any cruiseline by eating at the buffets.

Pros: New Ship

Cons: Food and Service

Recommends Norwegian Pearl? No.

Service and Staff
Our room steward was good, but the rest of the service was not. The automatic service fee and freestyle dining may be the cause of poor service. Most of the employees seemed more afraid of getting in trouble when there was a problem and really not concerned with helping to solve it.
Comedy shows were good.
Food and Dining
The food was less than acceptable. By the last two nights, we ate at the buffet for all of our meals just so that we could have salad and the pasta bar, which were OK. Don't pay the extra for the "specialty restaurants"; it's not worth it. Buy a filet when you get home and cook it on the grill.
Cabin / Stateroom
Smaller than some ships, but clean and new.
Cozumel, Mexico
A good place to get your shopping done and head to Senor Frogs. Not much to see here.
George Town, Grand Cayman
We spent the day at the beach. It's within walking distance of the port.
