We were very disappointed in this cruise, we traveled with an elderly but mobile relative. The Garden Cafe buffet was so inconvenient by the time one got their food and found a place to sit,& went back for silverware and drink (no trays) the food was cold. The COFFEE was horrible! Come on Folgers? when the ship leaves from Seattle for Alaska a good grade of coffee would be nice. The coffee bar didn't open until 7:00am and that as a little late for early risers especially with an excursion planned.
WE never got to really meet other people as we were not put at a table with other guests.
Oh the cruise director how annoying was he!!! They were always pushing activities that cost extra, bingo, gaming, shopping buying jewelry on the ship and off!!
Also annoying were the photographers setting up in the evening in the lobby for pictures taking up all the lobby space. And the photos were not good. And interrupting us during dinner for a photo.
Ports of Call too short!! Not enough time to see and do much except Skagway & the weather was horrible too bad.

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
see above Garden Cafe low rating, dining rooms were good at least we got served and didn't have to carry our food. service was good! It took us 4 days to figure out how to make a dinner reservation and that it had to be done early morning to get reservations for the NEXT day.
WE think its terrible the price of the specialty restaurants when one figures the meals are included. The one we ate in was not really worth the extra cost.
Again Garden Cafe was a glorified buffet I finally resorted to the salad bar once I found it late in the week. The food was bland and tasteless but nice presentation!

Entertainment

1 out of 5
The ships staff of entertainers were not good we left both shows before they were over. The Geisha one was horrible music!!
2nd City and the singing conductor were good and we enjoyed them a lot! Also the comic/magician we enjoyed.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Most staff were helpful and friendly.
But again the Garden Cafe had hosts everywhere but never would they help us find a seat and it was always full. We tried not to eat there but at times it was all that was open

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship itself was new and nice, very clean and shiny. Pool area was nice if only the weather had been better to enjoy it.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
This was good, always a bit small but we had room and we were 3 in the cabin loved having the balcony and sliding door out.

Pros: Our cabin was nice with a balcony, service was good, ship was new and nice

Cons: FOOD!! inconvenience of Garden Cafe, shows were terrible

Recommends Norwegian Pearl? No.
