7 Night Bermuda (Baltimore Roundtrip) Sail Date: June 21, 2008 Ship: Norwegian Majesty Cabin Type: Oceanview Traveled As: Couple Reviewed: 9 years ago
We just returned from sailing on the Norwegian Majesty to St Georges Bermuda. The trip was very relaxing. We left from Baltimore, drove there from Philadelphia area. Got off I95 right at port, gentlemen took luggage from car, we parked and went right to security/boarding could not have been easier. Everyone on ship was friendly and organized. Very relaxed atmosphere.
Food and Dining

We had no problem getting seated for meals, waits without reservations ranged from 5-30 minutes. The food was good but not great. Foods were sometimes a bit unusual and desserts were a disappointment. Daily standard options were always a good bet. Lobster night was good, but not many other shell fish options. We had read on an online cruising form that soda was expensive and the soda plan was a must,we did not find this to be true. Soda was about $2 and the plan for the week was about $50 a person. We were not charged for coffee at the dinner and the buffet had water, ice tea, fruit juice and coffee/tea available most of the day. Would recommend breakfast at buffet and other meals at restaurants.

We enjoyed the shows attended just about everyone. Two time slots a night fit in well with free style dining. We also enjoyed the art auction and movie night.

Majesty is an older/smaller ship which has it's pros and cons. It was well maintained, though somewhat out dated. We liked the size, it was not over whelming. Though it's size and age did not allow it to offer as many options as I believe do newer/bigger ships.
Cabin / Stateroom

We booked early and really studied ships map when selecting a room. We had a ocean view on a top deck. The room size was fine for the 2 of us, don't think I would be comfortable had there been 4 people. Be careful to look were rooms are because partially obstructed view can mean almost totally blocked by life boat. Also, floor with jogging tack has people constantly passing your window. We had a perfect view with total privacy.
Bermuda is so friendly. It is a very comfortable place because the people are relaxed, language is not an issue, and products were very American based. Beautiful views everywhere. We went on carriage ride, catamaran cruise, and took trip to beach. Everything left right form our ship..easy, organized, and well worth the money we paid for excursions. Prices when shopping varied. Gift items, clothes and jewelry were similar to home, food was expensive (about $14 for hamburger, fries and soda), gas was about $8 a gallon and general grocery time items were high.
