Excellent cruise

Sail Date: July 16, 2006

Reviewed: 6 years ago

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Oceanview

We travel extensively but this was our first cruise and we were VERY impressed. Boarding and debarkation were much easier and relaxing than flying. Food options were outstanding.

Pros: Convenience, food, freestyle/options

Cons: Too short!

Ship Quality
Exterior of ship had a little wear and tear but it was generally in excellent condition. About the only down side was that they were doing some (noisy) repairs, especially Sunday morning.
Food and Dining
If you couldn't find food or a restaurant you liked on this ship you don't like to eat. The freestyle was also excellent in that we could come and go as we pleased. We didn't have to wait at all (although we tend to eat on the early side).
Cabin / Stateroom
State room was fine for a ship. We were fairly low and towards the rear. Next time I'd book 1 deck up and in the middle.
Service and Staff
With the exception of 1 bartender, everyone on the ship was very friendly and courteous.
Entertainment
My first impression was that the shows weren't excellent but then the more I thought about it some of the singing was better than I've heard on Broadway.
St. George's, Bermuda
It's the best port in Bermuda if you use the bus system. Hamilton is too built up now and docking on Front St is like docking in NYC. The Navy Yard isn't built up enough yet. St Georges has several things to do and it's a quick bus ride to virtually any place.
Don't Miss: Peace and quiet.
