A mediocre cruise

Sail Date: July 09, 2006

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Oceanview

The ship is an older ship and we found the public bathrooms not clean and some of the service on the ship unpleasant. Our air condition in the room was low and the air condition in the casino was broken all together. There was nothing for my teenager to do the crew were more attentive to families with younger children. They would hold a teen disco each night for 45 minutes. It almost seemed like they didn't have enough staff. There were long lines at the omelet station and sandwich making stations but never a wait for drinks the ratio of barstaff to other staff was lopsided.

Pros: food and excursion

Cons: the ship and some service

Children's Programs
I don't think the cruise staff was highly qualified to keep this many people entertained. we made our own fun. Also they did not have a lot of control of some of the passengers who had drunk too much. One night during the show on deck with many young children in the area a couple was in the hot tub acting inappropriately and they were never asked to leave by the staff.
Food and Dining
Service and Staff
Some were a little snappy when you asked them a question. Never had that happen before and they did not go above and beyond like we have experieinced on other ships.
The shows were pretty good but the cruise director and staff were all right. They thought they were funny but really weren't. Again they geared their entertainment toward younger children.
