Shabby Ship not Ship Shape

Sail Date: August 09, 2008

Reviewed: 8 years ago

Traveled As: Family w/older children

Room Type: Oceanview

The Majesty is an old ship (1992) and boy does it show. We had two rooms and both were in sad shape. Ragged, stained towels, rust in the sinks, frayed carpets, small, small bathrooms, no T.V. reception (could not get most of Olympics) and not a place to sit down when eating breakfast or lunch, no seat around the pool either.

Pros: Bermuda, entertainment on board

Cons: The ship was rundown

Recommends Norwegian Majesty (RETIRED)? No.

Ship Quality
Very run down.
Cabin / Stateroom
Very, very small rooms. A superior large oceanview room was the size of your average room on other ships. Other rooms were extremely small. Rust in sinks, shower, toilet and sink were seperated by a curtain, everything got soaked.
Food and Dining
Not much of a selection. Buffets were terrible. Not enough food on days at sea. Ran out of most selections early.
Children's Programs
Not alot for young ones. Kept in the kids club. Children 10 to 13 were board.
Service and Staff
Our cruise director John was great though. He was very visable and entertaining.
Not that much to do. Especially for the kids. The shows were fantastic. Some of the best we have seen, no props or big costumes but fabulous dancers, singers, comedian and magician. Our cruise director was wonderful. John kept himself very visable, charmed everyone, and was very helpful.
St. George's, Bermuda
The transportation was easy to use. Buses and ferries are great. They run on time. Any of the beaches are beautiful. Many people went out on their own, as did we, easy to get anywhere. We went to the Naval Dockyards and Hamilton, Turtle Bay was beautiful too.
Don't Miss: snorkeling, sailing
