Not as wonderful as expected -

Sail Date: January 19, 2008

Reviewed: 8 years ago

Traveled As: Large Group

Room Type: Oceanview

We wanted a smaller ship with a more intimate atmosphere. It was clean, yet had a slight "shopworn" look. The two main dining rooms had the same menu - what is special about that? There was a wait at times up to 45 minutes- the Italian cafe had 2 offerings plus a kid menu, the buffet seating was crowded, - the menu uninspiring-

Pros: The energy of the entertainment and staff

Cons: The food and freestyle dining

Recommends Norwegian Majesty (RETIRED)? No.

Food and Dining
No filet mignon, no shrimp, no specialty desserts(baked alaska, cherries jubilee, etc), wet pecan encrusted snapper, tough flank steak, very disappointing: the allowance of casual to the lowest degree took away from the dining experience (we saw shorts and flip-flops)
Ship Quality
Cabin / Stateroom
older ship =smaller room -we knew that- decor a little outdated, shabby bed linens, very weak towels
Service and Staff
Our bar waiter "Pal" was excellent in always asking if he could be of help to us- we never met or saw our room steward, not having the same waiters was not as much fun as getting to know our "personal" waiter
Entertainment
I never saw and entertainment staff work so hard- they did all they could to stay upbeat and fun even in the face of some rude people. They were fun and we laughed a lot - the musicians were excellent all over the ship.
Cozumel, Mexico
shopping is great although I personally am not good at "bargaining" - I like the shops where things are priced fairly- snorkeling is always a good idea!
Don't Miss: Senor Frogs
George Town, Grand Cayman
I have been to Grand Cayman 3 times now- I thing the snorkeling is great, the sting ray island tour and bus tour of the turtle farm, hell, etc is good.
Don't Miss: Seeing the sting rays either in the water or from a glass bottomed boat.
Key West, Florida
The trolley tour gives you a good overall view and brief history lesson- it helps you appreciate the area. WE enjoyed the shops and the restaurants - still have not been to the beach - first time it had been destroyed - this time not enough time
