A delightful cruise

Sail Date: July 16, 2006

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Inside

This was our second cruise on the Majesty. Even though the ship is old, the overall opinion of our group was a good one. We had several grandchildren with us and they thoroughly enjoyed it. The meals were tasty, the entertainment fantastic, and Bermuda was beautiful. We visited the beaches and had a wonderful time. The only criticism we had was the bar staff. They constantly push drinks. It soon became annoying. We decided that we would still take a future cruise, maybe on a newer ship, probably to Bermuda.

Pros: The crew was very accomodating and very mannerly

Cons: The top deck was very crowded - plenty of families

Ship Quality
The ship is old and looks worn in places. The rugs, etc. However, the staff keeps it as clean as possible.
Cabin / Stateroom
The ship is worn and shows it. A few items did not work, such as our radio. Some of our group found items from the last passenger in their cabin. I believe that it is an overwhelming task to get the rooms cleaned and ready for a constant flow of passengers.
Service and Staff
The crew is extremely polite and friendly. They do their best to accomodate you. We had trouble with our room safe and the front desk sent someone immediately to fix the problem. Another passenger did not have a hair dryer, but was given one when the person reported it. Another passenger in our group had trouble with the air conditioning and a fan was given to them to help with the problem.
The cruise director was fantastic. The shows were very entertaining. The comedians were delightful. There is a variety of things going on and we followed the ship newspaper for guidelines everyday.
Children's Programs
Our grandchildren did not participate in the childrens program, but from what I observed, it seemed to be very organized and entertaining for the young ones.
Food and Dining
The food was tasty and plenty of it.
St. George's, Bermuda
Tobacco Bay for snorkeling - the grandchildren were delighted with this beach.
Don't Miss: Horseshoe bay for ocean swimming and gigantic waves. Hamilton for shopping.
