Our first cruise

Sail Date: June 11, 2006

Reviewed: 10 years ago

Traveled As: Large Group

Room Type: Oceanview

We found the ship to be very nice overall and well laid out. We did not like the smoking that was allowed almost everywhere, particulary in the casino where it was unbearable at times. We liked our experience overall but will look to the newer and larger ships for our next adventure

Pros: freestyle dining was great, service was excellent and friendly

Cons: the food itself was not great and the choice of menu in the restaurants was poor

Service and Staff
Everyone was very friendly and could'nt help you enough. Our room stewart made sure we were confortable and added emenities each night to amuse us and make us feel comfortable. The wait staff was very friendly and always there when you needed something. Most of the staff spoke very little english so sometimes it was difficult to communicate but all in all it worked out.
Food and Dining
convenience of dining was great with the freestyle dining. The food in the restaurants was poor at best, however the service was great. Menu selections were poor in the restaurants but good at the buffet
Ship Quality
This was our first cruise so the ship appeared very large at first but we soon realized that this is one of the smaller ships. The layout of the ship was very good and easy to find your way around. The ship was very clean in all areas. The north Atlantic can be very rough at times and several days the boat was really rocking!
Cabin / Stateroom
The majesty is showing its age but the ship was very clean. The state room was comfortable in size and overall condition was good.
Entertainment
we loved the entertainment in the palace theater. The variety was also good overall. The schedule of events was left in our stateroom every night for the following day. The on deck entertainment was good but the ship is very small in these areas and could not accommadate all the people and was very crowded most of the time. The bars on deck were under staffed and long waits for drinks resulted. On nice days a loungchair was tough to find on deck.
St. George's, Bermuda
Everything is very expensive in Bermuda. The best things to do is snorkeling and you can do it from any of the beaches, you don't have to go out in a boat. Torpedo bay is my favorite while Horseshoe Beach is the place to go.
