"A major disappointment."

Sail Date: December 01, 2005

Traveled As: Family w/young children

Room Type: Oceanview

Debarkation was a breeze in Charleston. Laid out nicely and parking in the old warehouses were nice to protect your cars. Norwegian Cruise Line claims they refurbished the Majesty, but my point to view, the ship was old and ragged. Although, the room we had was smaller than others, it still was nice. The service was the pits! If you don't want service go on NCL. Celebrity, Royal Caribbean, and Holland America are millions times better in everything. The food was horrible except for the Cafe San Marco, where they served hot dogs, french fries, and pizza. We only ate in the dinning room once because the service was so slow and with the "Freestyle Cruising" (open seating) it made it really confusing and unorganized. Every other night on board we ate at Cafe San Marco, unless we were in port. The ports we traveled to were very nice and the ship was easy to get on and off of.

Pros: The pools were nice and shows were great

Cons: cabins, service, food, and the ship

Ship Quality
The ship was a dump. It needs to me refurbished badly or just taken out of service. The size was nice and the crew usually left the ship a pig pin. Trash overflowing in public trash cans, tray in the hallways, and drink glasses left everywhear
Food and Dining
The food was terrible. Trying to get seated with open seated was such a hassle because it was so unorganized.
Cabin / Stateroom
The room was smalled than others had, but yet still comfortable. You can hear peoples conversations a cabin next to you or in the hallway.
Service and Staff
Unfriendly and they didn't want to be there.
The shows and the pool may have been the only good thing on the Majesty. The shows had a good variety and convieniant schedule. Not many activities to choose from on days at sea.
Children's Programs
My kids enjoyed the kid's programs despite being in a smaller space in the disco.
