Review summary

Cruise was ok, do not recommend NCL. NCL is dishonest and hides fees and service charges. They have a $20 daily service charge for ship associates that we don't have contact with. Why should we have to tip all ship staff. Doesn't NCL pay their employees out of what we pay upfront? I have talked to many of my relative and friends and have come to the conclusion that NCL should be avoided at all cost.

Thanks for the review. Every cruise lines charges gratuities. The ones that don’t have it built into their cruise fare. Its an acceptable practice not lies.

7+ Cruises on your profile????. I find that hard to believe that you have never heard of the gratuities. We have been on 4 cruises this year(just got off one today). 3 different cruise lines. NCL, Royal and Carnival. THEY ALL CHARGE A DAILY GRATUITIES FEE.

If you are worried about the daily gratituties on all cruise lines, then you should sail on Virgin. VV does not have daily gratituties bc everything is included in the price. Along with basic wifi, fitness classes, and soft drinks and juices. I've sailed in VV 5 times, and I have always left with a zero balance at the end of my cruise.

Yet another person who failed to do any research before their cruise. NCL doesn’t hide the daily gratuities. In fact, they offer to let you pay them in advance if you choose. They are disclosed, and they are also present on nearly every cruise line.

All cruise lines that I have been on have a daily gratuity charge. We have been on 6 different cruise lines, and NCL is one of our favorites. Sorry you were not pleased

I agree with the previous comments. Is this your first cruise, because every cruise line has the daily gratuities. You understand that these gratuities go to other employees, not just the ones you see, right? For an example. You sleep on clean sheets and blankets. If it weren't for the laundry staff, you would have dirty blankets. So even though you don't see them, it doesn't mean they don't deserve a portion of those gratuities. If you have an issue with paying gratuities, then maybe cruising isn't for you. I love NCL and have taken many cruises with them.
