Review summary
We had a wonderful time and were so glad to be back to cruising. We felt comfortable with the Norwegian's efforts to minimize risk of covid outbreaks including testing, vaccination mandates and additional cleaning. We wore our masks while in common spaces and even felt safer. See you next time.Embarkation
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
The District Brew House
I think if we ever go on another cruise that doesn't have a tap house we will be disappointed. The beer selection on the other ships is so terribly lacking that we just end up drinking wine or other cocktails. We spent more time in the brewhouse than probably any other location on the ship and tried almost every beer they had on tap. So nice to have craft brews to choose from. Several great IPA's, Ambers, pale ales and a particularly delicious cream ale. They didn't have any stouts or porters on tap curing this cruise, but they have plenty of bottled beers to choose from also. The service here was exceptional. Ryan and Edward were very knowledgeable bartenders. We enjoyed Manuel at the piano on several occasions too.
Observation Lounge
This was definitely one of our favorite spots on the ship. We visited every day. There are chaise loungers in the front row to spend a relaxing day reading a book with a few rows of tables that were perfect for playing games. If you were looking for a little more privacy/distancing there were always plenty of open tables, sofas and chairs along the sides to get the perfect spot. The view is amazing and love that it is so bright and spacious. I will definitely miss this on future cruises on the ships that don't have this feature.
Cagney's Steakhouse
The tuna tartar appetizer was a great way to start a fantasic meal. My ribeye was cooked perfectly and I tood advantage of the wine expert suggestions for this meal. He picked a nice merlot to compliment my steak and it did not disappoint. Nothing but compliments for Cagney's.
Ocean Blue
We were a little disappointed that we weren't wowed by Ocean blue. That being said, the food was still great, it was just seemed about the same quality as seafood dishes in the main dining room to me. That is saying more good about the main dining room than negative about ocean blue. In the future I will save my specialty dining package on other venues and just get my seafood in the main dining room.
American Diner
This was the first restaurant we visited before leaving port. The lobster sliders were great, but my favorite thing about this experience was the banana chocolate milkshake. So yummy.
Food Republic
We visited this location for lunch and had a few sushi rolls. They were very tasty. Not a huge variety of rolls to choose from, but plenty. There were lots of other delicious dishes on the menu that we didn't have a chance to try.
Teppanyaki
Always a favorite.
The Local Bar & Grill
Fast service. I enjoyed the wings and the sheperd's pie potato skins were amazing.

Entertainment
Galaxy Pavilion
What an exciting experience! This was my first VR arcade. We paid for the hour package and it was plenty of time to try several different machines. Our cruise was only about 40% occupancy with lower that normal % of kids, so the hour might not be anough time on a normal cruise if there are lines. We loved the 7D and Jurassic Park. We also walked the plank, did hang gliding, the hot wheel track and a few others. By the end I did experience some motion sickness, so beware if you are susceptible to that.
Laser Tag
So fun! First time I tried this. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it.
