We had a great time on this cruise. I picked Norwegian because it is supposed to be very kid friendly. I did not feel like there was much to offer for my kids. They were most excited about the arcade and the sports court. The basketballs were all damaged, the golf clubs were all for left-handed golfer’s, shuffleboard equipment was damaged and not usable, the sports court had a net over it which is about 4 feet above the hoop so it was always hitting a nap and people were very frustrated with that and the sport court was not accessible. There were two tiny hot tubs and one pool. Hot tubs were always so busy that you didn’t even want to sit in there because they were overcrowded. Just wasn’t a whole lot to offer on the ship for children unless you want to throw them in the splash Academy all day and not spend any time with them. I have cruised a lot and this is the first time I have used Norwegian. I did love their main dining at any time. That was very convenient. Overall I wasn’t. Impressed with them.

A pleasure start to finish, freestyle dining is the best

We really enjoyed our trip to Alaska on the NCL Jewel. Price was good for what NCL offered.

We went on this trip with a group of 11 family members to celebrate a 50th wedding anniversary. And we ALL can't wait to go again.

This was our first experience on NCL, and overall it was good. We have previously cruised Carnival and love the frivolity and the family oriented atmosphere of Carnival (we aren't partiers so we don't go into that scene). We plan to cruise Alaska again and will probably go on Norwegian. We are planning to do a land/sea package next time.

I live adventure cruising - using the ship as a "floating hotel" while exploring the beautiful Alaska rain forests. NCL departed on a Monday which worked perfectly into our schedule as we attended a wedding in Alaska before the cruise and sailed back to Vancouver on our way home to the east coast.

Alaska will be on our bucket list again but not on the Jewell. Need a slightly bigger ship and may go back to another line.

The ports of call her exactly what we wanted to see on this Alaskan bucket list Cruise. However the Norwegian Jewel I feel is very much catered to an elderly audience. The activities are lacking and more to better one's health. The cruise ship very much pushes a lot of their services during these presentations. I very much felt like I was on a timeshare cruise ship. The entertainment staff is not engaging and not fun at all. aside from the meals I had at the specialty restaurants and the breakfast buffet everything else is very bland.

It was overall a great cruise yet the food was a bit lacking all of the ports were amazing and had amazing hospitality I do recommend Juneau tours and Skagway tours they helped me get most of the pictures I have now

Overall the ship experience was average. Of the 6 cruises we have been on the food and attention to gluten issues were subpar. Found this cruise really tended to buckle and dime you. The Italian restaurant ala Carter ended up costing over $170 for 2 people. Food preparation in the main dining room was terrible as was waite staff attention.

Great vacation. I highly recommend. We did a behind the scenes tour and it was great to see how everything works.

Small ship, but amazing vacation and one we will never forget. For kids activities we will stick to Carnival.

We could not have asked for a better experience! We looked forward to this for over a year and it exceeded our expectations. We will definitely cruise with Norwegian again.

The cruise was definitely a Bucket List experience.

This is a smaller ship than others we have sailed on. The service was excellent, shows superb. Food was good, drinks plentiful. Ports were awesome. Thanks NCL.

I loved Norwegian and the Jewel ship! I didn’t want cruise to end.

My wife's cabin card would make the machine beep every time we returned to the ship, on the 4th time my wife said matter-of-factly it was getting old having so much trouble returning to the ship. When we disembarked they scanned her card and a red box popped up on screen that said "Passenger Argumentative". If you ever met my wife you would know how rediculous that is. We had her card remade and after the first problem reboarding and it still was a problem. My card was problematic, they remade it, and everything was fine.

The itinerary was fantastic. The quality of the food and bar staff on the ship was below par. We have done more than 100 days cruising with various cruise lines and will not cruise with Norwegian again.

We did the Norwegian Cruise Tour before the cruise and it was great. Took a train from Fairbanks to Denali National Park was great. The tour guide was fantastic. Would recommend. Then we met the Ship in Seward. The cruise was great and we had a great time. I feel Alaska is one of the best cruises that you can take.

Choose another Cruise. We have been on Disney, Princess, Royal Caribbean, and yes even Carnival. You will fare much better.
