Review summary
This was our second cruise on the NCL Jewel and we chose this cruise mainly because we could be on the Jewel again. Overall, the cruise was wonderful - we enjoyed good weather, the balcony cabin was roomy and was kept in top shape by our steward Dinkie.
We enjoyed the food with the exception of very slow service in the Brazilian and Asian restaurants. Our meal at Cagney's steak house was top-notch. Many of our meals were at the Garden Cafe which provided a great assortment of well-prepared and tasty meals in a buffet setting.
The ship's crew and staff were uniformly pleasant and always greeted us with a smile. They appeared to be genuinely happy with their jobs.
The ports were OK - we enjoyed Mazatlan more than the others because of it's history and generally more appealing appearance. We also had a great tour of the petroglyphs (booked through Delta - not offered on the ship).
The entertainment was top notch, especially the "show band" that provided live music in the main theater and other venues on the ship. There was a good mix of entertainment, games, demonstrations and shows.
All in all, this was a great cruise!
