Norwegian Jewel Cruise Review to Alaska - Inside Passage
Ship: Norwegian Jewel
Cabin Type: Inside
Traveled As: Large Group
Reviewed: 3 years ago
Review SummaryThe ship is very clean, easy to get from area to area, nicely decorated. Our biggest complaint is due to an incident where our 13 yr old granddaughter went missing from 1 a.m until approx 9 a.m. Her parents discovered she was missing at about 5;45 a.m. Security repeatedly refused to make a general announcement, nor would they contact the cabins of the other members of the childrens group that she was supposed to be with. Her parents were frantic because this is a child that never ignores a curfew and has never given us a reason to panic. Her parents were treated rudely by security and it wasn't until aprox 9-10 a.m that they finally made a shipwide announcement, whereupon our granddaughter (who had fallen asleep in another cabin) showed up at guest relations. We all understand that stuff like this happens, but we were really taken aback at how rude and condenscending the staff involed were toward parents who were very upset and worried. Some compassion would have be nice.

Service and Staff
Cabin / Stateroom
Pros: The ship was clean, the cabin staff was wonderful and the food was good.
Cons: Guest relations, security, the woman taking specialty restuarant reservation and the main dining room staff came across as distand and almost unfriendly.
