Overall our cruise on the Norwegian Jewel (11-11-12) from NYC to Cape Canaveral and the Bahamas was a blast. The shows were GREAT. The food could be improved, no ice cream bar, and no shrimp unless you visit the cover restaurants. Menu switched from Azura to Tzar restaurants. Our cabin was small for the four of us and the fourth bed was not made up on the first night, overlooked. After complaining there was no problem with the cabin for the rest of the cruise. The carpet in the cabin was dirty and the TV is not a flat screen with a minimum amount of channels to watch. Maybe this why the new Norwegian Breakaway is sailing this cruise next year.

Pros: Leaving out of Manhattan, did not have to fly south!

Cons: Obstructed view cabin is very small for two adults and two teenagers.

Recommends Norwegian Jewel? Yes!

Ship Quality
The staff by the pool neglected to pick up trash on the deck and would walk right by it. Ship was midsize and showing it's wear.
Food and Dining
Could eat whenever you wanted. Room service was slooooooow.
Cabin / Stateroom
Small obstructed view room for four people. Won't do that again. Carpet was dirty. Beds were comfortable.
Service and Staff
The staff did their jobs but that's about all.
Entertainment
Loved the entertainment. Magician, Hypnotist, Cirque Bijeau, and Fire and Ice were awsome!!
Children's Programs
Our teenagers(16) had a place to go to meet other kids and that was about it.
