Good, not Great

Sail Date: July 01, 2012

Reviewed: 4 years ago

Room Type: Balcony

The ship seemed very average.

Pros: efficient embark/disembark

Cons: lack of menu variety

Recommends Norwegian Jewel? No.

Ship Quality
The ship seemed small\, decor was a bit dated/cheezy. The buffet area got pretty dirty and could have used more help to maintain it.
Food and Dining
Most food was good\, but some (and many desserts) were not edible. The menu variety is a joke--it's the same day after day\, except for a few changes. There were several \"pay extra\" restaurants that they pushed\, so the crummy menu in the regular dining room is probably intentional to encourage passengers to pay more to dine elsewhere.
Cabin / Stateroom
Bed was comfy and the pull down bunk bed was nice. Built ins were well done and held all of our luggage. Again\, color scheme and decor was not great. TVs need to be updated.
Service and Staff
Friendly staff\, but table service was often frustratingly slow.
Entertainment
The acts we saw were good\, though not at the level of prior cruises\, and the venues were not large enough to accommodate everyone. You either got there very early to get a seat or had to stand.
Children's Programs
Lots of activities and fun workers.
