We just got back from the Alaska Cruise on the NCL Jewel. What an amazing week. Our days at sea were filled with great entertainment, amazing food in both the regular dining rooms as well as the specialty restaurants, and relaxation. Our stateroom was quite roomy for 2 of us, and ALWAYS ready for us to return to whether it was an excursion or a trip to the jacuzzi. We had sunshine all 3 days that we were in Alaska (not common), and the views were gorgeous. We saw glaciers from the ship as well as from a hike, and they were spectacular. In Ketchikan, we saw a black bear and her two cubs. In Juneau, we hiked to the Mendenhall Glacier and then took a small boat into the harbor to see the beautiful humpback whales spouting and diving....some were within 150 feet of the 20 passenger boat we were in! And in Skagway, we went zip lining, so much fun!!! From the comfortable beds and onboard entertainment, to the food and amazing scenery, this cruise is a winner!

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The free style cruise was different for me\, and I liked it. We never waited for a table in the main dining rooms\, and the crew went out of the way to give us the nicest tables. The food was wonderful\, with a large variety to suit any tast. The specialty restaurants were exactly what you would expect for each\, and we thoroughly enjoyed the three we went to.

Entertainment

From comedy\, to acrobatics and singing/dancing\, this ship had it all!

Exceptional!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship is quite nice and very comfortable. The crew was very careful about cleanliness with the passengers\, and everything was very well planned and carried out. Very smooth. It's not the most elegant ship\, but it's still very nice\, and the crew and amenities more than make up for that. It is free style crusing at its best.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We had a balcony room\, and I highly recommend it. We bundled up and read on our balcony\, and when crusing through the Tracy Straights toward the Sawyer Glacier\, we had amazing views! Choose the starboard side...you won't be disappointed!

Pros: Ports\, excursions\, friendly and helpful crew\, food.

Recommends Norwegian Jewel? Yes!
