Nice Ship, Great Desinations

Sail Date: June 16, 2012

Reviewed: 4 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

The ship was very modern and very clean. The staff was friendly and very helpful. However, it seemed that I was being nickeled-and-dimed for everything along the way. The use of the fitness room was included in the fare, but if you wanted to use the steam room, sauna, showers and indoor hot tub, that was an extra $146 per person. Iced tea was included, but soda had to be purchased either by the drink or unlimited for the week of $47. The so called health seminars that were offered by the fitness staff turned out to be infomercials. You were constantly trying to be sold something or so it seemed.

Pros: The Alaska Coast

Cons: The Food On The Ship, The "Seminars" Disguised As Infomercials, Some of the Overpriced Tour Excurations

Recommends Norwegian Jewel? Yes!

Food and Dining
The food was ok. I was expecting a much grander dining experience. It seems that a fair amount of their offerings were pre-prepared. The NY Strip Steak was a very thin, tasteless, boneless piece of meat. The hash browns were food service prep little circles and the pancakes were a bit rubbery (like the ones I get at McDonalds when I am in a rush)
