The Jewel is a great ship, perfect size and configuration, for Alaska. The crew was very attentive and proficient. The ship is well maintained, clean and organized for best use.

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
It's important to experience the full nature of the dining....do the specialty restaurants. We loved the French "Bistro" and the other choices...great food, service and a totally different experience than the standard buffet. Although, the buffet was excellent with lots of choices including Indian and a one night whole buffet dedicated to chocolate.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Very enjoyable line up of performers...great shows and activities on board when not exploring Alaska. Shore excursions were really great for us. We loved Zip line in Ketchikan, whale watching in Juneau (saw humpbacks and killer whales), glacier (Mendenhall) and the train in Skagway (although very cold)

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Great folks with a sense of service that was appreciated by all.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Deck 11 mid is high for great views, and steady. The stateroom was roomy for a ship and well kept and organized. Decor was tasteful, and there is plenty of storage space for 2 suitcase travelers (we had two in our cabin)

Pros: The crew, entertainment, schedule, food

Cons: Itinerary...too short in Juneau. Would have loved more time in each city to explore more, particularly Juneau which was a very short day.

Recommends Norwegian Jewel? Yes!
