Sail Date: April 14, 2012
Ship: Norwegian Jewel
Cabin Type: Inside
Traveled As: Couple

This was my second cruise and the first aspect was that the ship was noticeably smaller than the first. This was not an issue except one day when it was difficult to find an open chair on the lido deck (pools), as chairs on the upper decks were not set up due to wind issues. Otherwise the ship had very good facilities available. We felt that this was a family cruise for people that plan to eat at the specialty restaurants each night.

Food and Dining

My wife and I were not impressed with the quality of food unless you went to the specialty restaurants. The convenience, ambiance, and times were fine, but didn't make up for having to pay extra for something you didn't budget for. Our previous cruise, better food was included.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Great! Very impressive. They had a very integrated family experience. Most of the groups we saw on the ship had two or three generations on vacation.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
They did a good job, but it didn't feel likely a magical vacation.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Layout was great, and it was clean (washy-washy!). There was some wear in areas, but nothing bad.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Inside cabin was fine, but our TV only worked with the remote and the remote had some wear issues.

Pros: Entertainment, Flexible Supper Times

Cons: Extra cost for specialty restaurants, Other food was hit or miss

Recommends Norwegian Jewel? Yes!
