We choose to travel in the fall when, for the most part, children are in school. So, if you book a trip in November and sail out of NY/NJ, please note that New Jersey schools are generally closed during election week, and because of this, we had 700 children on our cruise. Our own fault for not being more diligent and a lesson learned. In spite of this being a "family" cruise week, we enjoyed the cruise. A day after leaving NY you're in sunshine and warm weather, and for cruising in November, you can't ask for more!

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The main dining rooms were very nice, the service was excellent and the food good. However, we were disappointed because the menu was basically the same every night with very little variation.

5 out of 5
We found the entertainment on board to be quite interesting, funny and diverse. Something for everyone. Our day at the private island was cancelled because of rough seas.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our cabin steward was excellent, as were all staff members that we had the pleasure of dealing with during our trip.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The ship itself was good: layout was standard, decor was nice and the ship was very clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Our balcony stateroom showed signs of age and could use an update. In addition, the wind whistling through the sliding doors was so loud at night that we had trouble sleeping. You could hear the whistling in the hallways. We tried everything to stop the sound and finally jammed a thick book between the handle and glass door and that worked.

Pros: Service and Entertainment

Cons: Daily menus in the main dining rooms.
