Not what I expected

Sail Date: August 27, 2011

Reviewed: 5 years ago

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Balcony

As this was my first cruise and it was during Hurricane Irene, the first 2 days were very rocky. They emptied the pools (for safety reasons) and when the seas calmed down, EVERYONE wanted to go in the pools which made it very crowded. There definitely is not enough pools for the amount of people onboard the ship.

Pros: The entertainment

Cons: Not enough pools

Recommends Norwegian Jewel? Yes!

Ship Quality
It was little confusing trying to find some of the restaurants.
Food and Dining
Specialty restaurants were very good, however, my granddaughter found a hair in her food which was a bit disturbing. The restaurant gave us credit for her dinner.
Cabin / Stateroom
Service and Staff
The ship staff was excellent. Our stateroom attendees (Rodney and Cherry) were awesome. They knew us by name from the very first day of the cruise.
The shows that were performed by Fire and Ice were excellent.
Children's Programs
The kids program was excellent. The staff was great with the kids. We especially liked Super.
Nassau, Bahamas
We did the Sea Lion Encounter. It was awesome.
Port Canaveral, Florida
Was a little disappointed with the Kennedy Space Center.
