Not a wonderful experience!!

Sail Date: August 20, 2011

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Balcony

My family and I recently sailled in the Jewel out of NY. The people were noy very friendly, in the buffet they wont even offer you water. If you want to eat at a specialty restaurant, prepare to pay per person. Not enough activities on board and the few that they have are not planned that you have enough time to swing from one to the other, late evening there are no activities for children other than paying at the arcade. We were very unhappy to sail on NCL.

Pros: The stardust theatre performance..

Cons: That you have to pay to eat at the restaurants

Recommends Norwegian Jewel? No.

Children's Programs
No activities for children. At the activity center they would not leave the children be, they always want to have them in a circle doing things together and after a certain time you needed to pay to have them lock up in a room.
Food and Dining
we only took advantage of the buffet and the food was good.
Service and Staff
some friendly not others!!
Entertainment
The stardust theatre was the only performance that you can really enjoy.
Cabin / Stateroom
we had a mini suite which was an excellent size and set up for a family of four.
Ship Quality
Webmust say that cleanliness was every where..they offer you hand sanitizer in every corner of the ship.
Port Canaveral, Florida
WE took a bus ride to Orlando Universal Studios.
Don't Miss: The universal studios theme park
Great Stirrup Cay (Cruiseline Private Island), Bahamas
The ship doesnt even inform you that they would have complimentary Lunch at the Island.
