Nice time, but no more Norwegian

Sail Date: June 11, 2011

Traveled As: Family (young children)

Room Type: Oceanview

The ship itself although christened in 2005, seemed old.
Staff was fantastic, except for the first night in 1 of the restaurants. That improved as the cruise went on. Norwegian boasts about the variety of restaurants, but leaves out the fact that all but 3 of them for dinner are extra costs! Per Person I believe. The 2 table service restaurants they had had fantastic food, but the buffet was mediocre throughout the day. Large selection, but not for every palate.
The entertainment and activities were not only ample but were fun and enjoyable for nearly every age!! If the entertainment weren't there, the trip could have been a real bust for me :-( but it made the days worth it to enjoy the shows!

Pros: Entertainment

Cons: extra fees for restaurants

Recommends Norwegian Jewel? No.

AFter the first night of the kids club, my kids did not want to go back. They described a quiet game that seemed like more of a punishment than a game! The whole group had to be quiet, if even one person talked in the quiet minute, another minute was added!! Not a fun game for a kid on vacation with a bunch of new people to meet and play with!

love Blue Lagoon, but took a long time to get there and never got to use the beach that was included in our package due to the late arrival time.
Don't Miss: Blue Lagoon
Great Stirrup Cay (Cruiseline Private Island), Bahamas
GET there early!!!! Bring lots of sunscreen and watch out for SeaGulls attacking while you are eating! Very rocky on the edges of the beachfront
