This was our first trip on Norwegian. If it had been our first and had nothing to compare it to, everything would have been wonderful but knowing how good a cruise can be we were more judgmental about this one. The food is OK, but not the best. The fact that you have freestyle dining means you never really get to know aany servers in particular.
The seas were very rough along the Atlantic Coast. Though this did not bother us, many passengers complained.
The Norwegian Jewel cruise to Bahamas is a Nickelodeon cruise and as such there are MANY children on board. Again, not a bother to us, but may be a bother to others.

Pros: Proximity of port to my house

Cons: food

Recommends Norwegian Jewel? Yes!

Food and Dining
Not consistent. The non-fancy meals were the best. Anytime they tried to serve something exotic, it was not that good. Bacon was TERRIBLE.
Cabin / Stateroom
Somewhat small but well taken care of.
Service and Staff
Some of the staff is awesome but most are just there doing their jobs.
Entertainment
Evening entertainment in the theater was very good. Otherwise, most other activities were very unprofessional. And they charge way too much for Bingo.
Ship Quality
The Jewel is a beautiful ship, well laid out and easy to navigate around in a few short hours.
Nassau, Bahamas
Definitely without a doubt go to Blue Lagoon. Beautiful beach and the dolphins are here, too.
Don't Miss: Blue lagoon
Port Canaveral, Florida
We took the airboat cruise and alligator jungle shore excursion. This was so much fun. The tour guide on the bus was exceptional. You knew she loved the area. The airboat ride was fun. The alligator jungle was so good. I held alligators, snakes, and spiders. If you know me, you would not expect this. Safari Todd who runs the place is amazing (and crazy) he feeds the alligators while walking with them barefoot in the swamps.
Don't Miss: Alligator Jungle
