SHOW ME THE MONEY

NCL forgot one rule. A cruise to Nassau needs to go to Nassau. Our ship was supposed to leave NYC on 12/5 but because of an issue at drydock didn't leave until 12/6. We were given a 1/7 refund into our onboard account for this delay. The new itinerary eliminated Stirrup Cay which I will not call GREAT. Upon boarding the ship we were informed that the ship would bypass Nassau and go to the Stirrup instead. For this we were given a $2 per person credit...that's right 20 dimes. The "island" would be a small beach where they offer you complimentary water and coffee and have their hand out for everything else. The "island" also has the beautiful backdrop of ongoing construction paid for by your renting of lifejackets for your children and the inflatable slide $20 per kid to go on that. But NCL got every penny spent on that "island" something that wouldn't have happened in Nassau hence we were there!

Pros: entertainment food and service were excellent

Cons: a cruise to Nassau that never went to Nassau

Recommends Norwegian Jewel? Yes!

Food and Dining
The only reason the rating is only a good is due to the lack of cold beverage options. it's either water, unsweetened tea or pay the piper. The chocolate buffet was amazing though.
Ship Quality
I actually thought the ship was well cared for. It was clean and beautiful. Tsar's is the main dining room and is extravagant. With Azura they went for a modern theme but fell short. The theater is very elegant as well.
Cabin / Stateroom
We had a balcony on 10 and were pleasantly surprised. Our shower was awesome and the bed was extremely comfortable. There was plenty of room to walk around more than feared. In room tv's were alot to be desired though.
Service and Staff
Our room steward was amazing The monkey towel animal hanging from the ceiling was a nice touch.
Entertainment
Cirque bijou is a must see for anyone on this ship it was breathtaking and amazing. The full length show of the comedian was 28 minutes. He was funny but the highlight show for the evening needs to be longer.
Children's Programs
My kids 4 and 8 thoroughly enjoyed their time at kid's camp, many times not wanting to leave when we came to get them. My only gripe is on a NICK cruise we had photo opps with Dora Diego and Spongebob and Slimtime game shows. The meet and greet with characters was at a special breakfast with an 8 a.m. starttime that charged you $50 for a family of 4 to attend.
