5 Night Western Caribbean (Miami Roundtrip)
Sail Date: April 12, 2009
Ship: Norwegian Jewel
Cabin Type: Balcony
Traveled As: Couple
Reviewed: 7 years ago
Noticed that the ship was very clean overall. The restaurants that were included in the price were not worth going to. We looked at the "lobster and grouper extravaganza entree" and laughed at it (it was so tiny!). The buffet on the 12th Floor was pretty good. You would be better off paying the extra for real grown-up food in the specialty restaurants.

I signed up for the semi-submarine tour to see the plane that was for viewing underwater only to find out that NCL brochure was 4 years outdated and the plane wreck is no longer there thanks to Hurricane Wilma. That was why I had signed up!

Small bus tour of the turtle farm, the rum cake "factory", and "Hell". It was very hot and humid. The sea turtles were the highlight for me. Could have done without the rum cake stop. The terrain in Hell, G.C. was weird though....

Pros: casual dress, gym always open, freestyle dining, Japanese restaurant onboard

Cons: noisy at rear 10th and 11th flrs, smoking in cabins allowed, must pay for good food

Recommends Norwegian Jewel? Yes!
