Our Anniversary Cruise

Sail Date: February 24, 2008

Reviewed: 6 years ago

Traveled As: Family w/young children

Room Type: Inside

We were on the Norwegian Jewel. Our room was very comfortable and wereimpressed with the larger shower area. Our previous cruises with Norwegian had very small shower areas. Our married son, wife, and grandchildren were with us. Their room was crowded as it had a bunk above and a trundle bed below thus filling up the entire room with beds at night. When booking, it is hard to tell what the rooms are like when you have extra people. Pictures show only the two beds, not the set-up when you have a family. The Tsar's Restaurant was beautiful on the tail of the ship.

Recommends Norwegian Jewel? No.

Cozumel, Mexico
We only went on shore and shopped which is not our favorite thing to do, but we did get the flavor of the island a bit.
George Town, Grand Cayman
We were disappointed in the onshore excursion that we chose. We booked a tour of the island ahead of time and did not get the tour we were promised. We seemed to be the only people booked, so they walked us to a parking lot and put us in a taxi that gave a tour that they give for half the price that we paid. We understood that the Turtle Farm was part of our tour and when we got there they said we had to pay $18.00 to get in and we only had 20 min., so we skipped it. We also thought we were going to a rum factory and we only went to a store that sold rum cakes and rum.
Don't Miss: Perhaps the turtle farm that we didn't get to see. We saw slides of it on board ship.
