We paid for a BC+ rate for two rooms and they both ended up BA class, which was nice. There was a lot of food but it was generally poor quality... nothing was made to order - steaks ordered med rare always came well done. The ship allows smoking seemingly everywhere except in bed - so we could not easily escape the smokers. Some of the worst singing/dancing I've ever seen on a stage.

Entertainment

Most of the organized activities and entertainment are thinly veiled sales pitches. The ships lead sales/con man called himself Kiwi and was a repulsive character that popped up all over the place. When one of our ports was canceled and became a day at sea we got activities including "Rock Paper Scissors with the crew."

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Hit or miss... some were very good, others were very bad. We paid $48 in mandatory tips every day for the good and the bad service - plus extra for particularly good waiters at dinner.

Cabin / Stateroom

Our room was comfortable and well maintained by the housekeeping staff.

Pros: Boarding and disembarking were not as bad as expected...

Cons: Excursions were poor; skipped a port "due to bad weather" on the most clear, perfect day; entertainment was aweful; nickled and dimed at every turn... mandatory tips for everyone no matter how bad a particular server might have been; generally over crowded; ports were simply tourist shopping areas

Recommends Norwegian Jewel? No.
