We have been on several other cruises by other cruise lines, but the itinerary offered on this cruise was great. Unfortunately, we feel the experience was marred by inferior meals, both in the buffets and restaurants. We tried eating at one of the additional price restaurants one night but after 20 additional dollars we found the food to be just as poor tasting. In addition to bland, tasteless food, we found some staff members to be rude and unhelpful. The cruise staff seemed to always be selling extra price items. There also seemed to be a sanitation issue on the ship as the 4th day into the cruise staff stopped letting passengers serve themselves at the buffet and insisted that everyone sanitize with hand spray. Staff did not appear happy with this change, and it seemed that many staff members were annoyed to have to serve us

Pros: itinerary was great

Cons: food was poor, staff unfriendlly, constant selling

Recommends Norwegian Jewel? No.

Food and Dining
Meals were overcooked at times, undercooked at times, often served lukewarm. Buffet selections were virtually the same everyday.
Service and Staff
Staff was generally unfriendly and seemed overworked. Concierge staff was outright rude at many times. We often were given conflicting information, or no information at all.
Children's Programs
We did not have our children on board, but children were left unattended in the hot tub and pool area.
Ship Quality
while passengers were required to sanitize hands, we never saw crew members sanitize elevator buttons or hand rails. We had to wait in line to receive a ship layout map.
