Norwegian Jewel Cruise Review to Europe - Mediterranean
Ship: Norwegian Jewel
Cabin Type: Suite

Review Summary5 days before cruise, paid for and upgraded from mini suite to 11030 penthouse suite. Gurgling and whooshing sounds caused two sleepless nights for other 2 people traveling with us and them being given cabin 4 floors down, obstructed view on the other side of the ship with no balcony and over the Fyzz Lounge which continued music until 1:30 am nightly. !st night on cruise all of us up til 3:30am with loud music coming through pipes from the pool area above. After that got turned off, finally, we dealt with constant ceiling noise and vibrations with constant complaining to all up to and including Hotel Director who stated there was no other cabin to put us on the whole ship so we endured less than 5 hr/night sleeping only because we collapsed, exhausted each night.
Engineers and plumbers admitted that the reason the cabin was so noisy was there was absolutely no insulation in the ceiling of our cabin!!! This was unbelieveable and more unbelieveable that no one else had complained about the atrousious noise of this extremely beautiful cabin over the past year since this ship was commissioned. We were prisoners to the noise of the deck chairs , people's footsteps, water sounds and vibrations of the chandelier over our bed waking us before our phone wake up call, even. Had we not been traveling with 4 other people on this Mediterranean cruise, we would surely have flown home from the first port in Rome. Finally, I'm over the exhausted state I returned from this so called vacation.

I told him it had not resolved and he offered that perhaps that last night he could arrange a quiet cabin so we could sleep but never heard from him again!
