Norwegian Does Cruising Right!

Sail Date: October 03, 2010

Reviewed: 6 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

Lovely ship. Very nice cruising experience. Lots of activity restaurant options.

Pros: Free Style Dining

Cons: Not enough quiet areas

Recommends Norwegian Jade? Yes!

Cabin / Stateroom
Our stateroom was small but not terrible, certainly adequate, and very clean. Great value for the price.
Ship Quality
The Norwegian Jade is a nice size ship without being too large. It is easy to get around without getting lost. It is kept very clean.
Food and Dining
We love Free Style Dining. It is one of the things that brought us back to Norwegian. We like to eat when we want, with whom we want. The food is generally very good even in the restaurants without any upcharges. We only ate in one of those, the French Bistro, and it was especially good.
Service and Staff
Entertainment
So much to do; not enough time. It's a party from the minute you get on the ship, but not in an overpowering way. Shows at not were good too.
Livorno (Florence & Pisa), Italy

Don't Miss: Cinque Terre
Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy
Rome is always wonderful, even when you have a problem. One of the friends we were with had a medical problem and we spent most of the day in a Rome hospital. They had to leave the cruise and return home, but the people and the care she received in Rome was wonderful.
Palma De Mallorca, Balearic Islands
Dirty beach.
Don't Miss: Lovely old town.
Monte Carlo, Monaco
Loved Nice. The tour including Eze and Monaco was too rushed.
Don't Miss: Nice
Naples, Italy

Don't Miss: We had lunch at a farm near Sorrento that makes mozzerella cheese, olive oil, and lemoncello. It was a wonderful meal in a beautiful setting.
