Very nice and new Ship. Excellent treatment. People from everywhere, the only bad thing was the pools. The experience was nice, first time in NCL. The food is ok, but the Steakhouse in the cruise it is amazing. The prices at the restaurants are  affrodable. I have 3 boys 4, 10 and 15 and all three enjoyed the ship. 

We were very disappointed about this cruise Norweign customer service cannot and will not solve problems about issues they give excuses but do not have the authority to change anything so what ever you paid for even though there is a mistake and you have to live with it until your cruise is over and you have to contact who ever you scheduled your cruise through too late by this time.  Our hole reason for this cruise was to get our parents to St. Thomas to celebrate their 26 year anniversary 14 family members flew to St. Thomas to meet use there myself, wife, father, mother and aunt took the cruise to insure we get them to St. Thomas.  We were told after we sailed that we would not be going to St. Thomas and that we had an option to get off the ship in the Bahamas and fly to St. Thomas but that we would not be refunded for the cruise.  First we would not make it on time.  The bottom of this form still has us going to St Thomas, British  virgin island, and Bahamas.  Looks like   doesn't  even know where we went.  We were scheduled for two state rooms and in canceling one it turned everything into a disaster we did not get what we paid for would like to request some type of compensation

First day at the buffet trying to eat the sliced roast beef. No success, it was tough and leather. Same with the stir fried beef the next day. Went to LeBistro and got their filet mignon and it was excellent as was their lobster. The new York strip in Taste main rest was soggy, like it had been in a steamer for a few hours. The service in Taste was very good but Savor was so rushed we were still eating our app when they served the entre. Best part of the cruise for us was the adults only area on deck 16 aft. Good music and always two loungers available. Cabin service was very good. The interior finish on the Getaway seemed very cheap, a lot of dark formica and plastic. Entertainment was excellent. We saw two shows in the Grammy Experience with Shannon McNally, a blues/jazz singer. For the money we will look to another cruise line.

Very clean, staff does make you feel special. The cruise was very clean. The food is good. You will have a good time if you go on it. If you have a chance pay the gratuity fee for the alcohol package is very, very, worth it. The shows are good. If you bring a couple of kids in the balcony states. They make bunk beds.

I love it! the only setback I had, was that I had travelled with the Breakaway before and the Getaway is exactly like the Breakaway! So its like I was in the Breakaway all over again.

first time on a norwegian cruise not sure if i will repeat it. broken american airlines plane caused us to miss boarding in miami terrible experience.boarded in ST THomas staff was really on the ball for boarding. small but nice rooms, excellent cabin steward. lots of activities on board for adults and kids, our group of 6 had 2,8,12 year olds and 1 senior. some of the staff was excellent especially in O Sheenan's restaurant and bar (except for 1 pissy waiter in the booth section), the majority of the staff seemed to be hanging around and didn't really engage the passengers which is really strange on a cruise ship, they didn't have anyone we could tell watching the kid pool area  and some of the older kids were really rowdy, the staff of the kid program was excellent if you go on this ship send your kids they will have a ball, the food was disapointing and just fair. except in the specialty restaurants where both staff and food are excellent but that should be true also of the dinring rooms and buffet. they need to get a better system for disembarkation if you get on the ship at a later port that part was a nightmare.overall I think i'll go back to Royal Carribean and hope this departure from excellent customer service is not a new trend.  I gave it 3 stars cause we tried our best to make the best out of every situation as long as we were together we had a great time

My husband and I have been on many cruises with Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Holland America, Costa . We went on NCL's Getaway from Miami and it was one of the best cruise we have ever taken. The ship was beautiful, the food wonderful, the staff amazing and sailing freestyle is something other cruise lines should consider. They even had a salsa band this ship was "rocking". We are looking forward to our next NCL cruise. 

I felt like they try to get every dollar out of you. They charge the room the tip everyday, I am fine with that, I do not like the fact that we do not know who and how much the money is going too. They should give the people cruise money to hand out to the crew as they see fit. Service on the ship was not at a high level, I feel that is because they know they are getting the tips and do not need to earn it. Also there was 11 of us on the ship 4 kids between 12-15 they would not allow the 12 year old to go tot he 13+ room with his brother and cousins. The kids did not have a good time at all, in turn the adults did not as well, all because the cruise line would not allow one kid to join the older room when his birthday was one month away. There is one pool for the adults not big at all, the kids are not able to be in there, the kids pool is small and right under the slides, I have been on plenty of cruises and this one has been the one I did not enjoy. The rooms are small, the hallways are narrow and balcony's are small, hard to fit the chair and yourself on there. Also beware of the shops they like to push the watches and tell you it is the best price, I was in St. Thomas and the same watch the ship was charging me $149 for I got for $100 at imperial jewelers in St. Thomas. The watch brand was invicta. The buffet closes at 11:30p and the only thing open is O'Sheenes which by the way has a smaller menu after 11pm and does not offer a desert or anything sweet. If you want room service there is a 7.95 service charge ridicules   On a positive the food is good  

Pros: Superb Entertainment (some of which were a surcharge), Top Class Kids Club, Excellent food and choices, fantastic aqua area and good evening shows. Very helpful staff*, courteous people*, nice specials, easy embarkation and disembarkation process

Cons: Room was dirty, smelly and carpet was dingy (this was supposed to be a new ship), but it was roomy (we had 3 persons in there comfortably)The stop at Tortula was not as expected (all aboard time ws 2.30pm which was short - but there was nothing to do or see in Tortula anyway). There were 4 isolated incidents where I encountered truly rude and aggressive staff (something you simply do not expect on a cruise ship, especially when you are reserved, polite and quiet like I am), one of which embarrassed me in front of my kids and other guests. It occurred while playing one of NCL's invitation games (scavenger hunt for signatures) where one had to get signatures from particular crew members. I was shouted at, and made a fool of - all for a game that I was invited to play. My thing is - if games are going to attract responses from your crew like that - why have them? I am conservative by nature and don't like crowds or participating in games and I only took part because my kids asked me to. It was an utter disappointment. In addition, 50% of the photo gallery staff preferred if you did not bother them - even for the simplest of questions - thank goodness the others were helpful.

We have done many family vacations on cruises before but this was our first on NCL.  It was our best cruise to date and look forward to our next NCL cruise!

Excellent cruise, wonderful service and the show Burn the Floor was truly SUPERB! The Broadway musical Legally Blonde was a disappointment, however, was not surprised since it did not do well on Broadway either.

Our preferred cruise line is NCL and we had a great trip to the Caribbean.  However, seems like NCL's value is eroding over time by having customers pay more for services that were included in the cost before.  Used to be that the price included all shows and restaurants, but not anymore.  Recommend that NCL consider making everything available on the luded in the price (except alcoholic beverages) so that there isn't the perception of "nickel and diming" NCL customers...especially those that are loyal to the brand.     

the ship spend too much time at sea. when in port spend too little time i port.

if you took one shore excursion you did not have time to do anything else. not enough entertainment on ship

We had an awesome time on this cruise. Would have liked a little more time in Nassau Bahamas, but still a great trip with family and friends.  I didn't discover the bowling alley until we were exiting the ship, oh well, maybe next time I will get to discover everything about the Getaway.

Our cruise with our children and grand kids was wonderful. The ship was beautiful, but too large for myself and my husband, we prefer a smaller vessel. Over all the food on the ship was very good.  We especially loved the French Bistro, we ate dinner there twice and were very pleased each time.  The service was perfect.  The crew were all very friendly. 

This is a beautiful ship.  The getaway is loaded with activities to keep everyone entertained.  Legally Blonde and Burn the Floor are must see shows. The service, attention and friendliness of the crew are second to none. Highly recommend this ship.

while the ship was magnificent and the specialty restaurants were delightful, and the entire staff exceptionally courteous, and polite, the ship has a major drawback . . . the pool area.  First of all they have an "adults only pool" with a guard blowing a whistle, telling kids they were not allowed in the pool.  The "Main Pool was very tiny with a divided wall, so there was very little room for parents to enjoy the pool area with their children.  There was a splash pool for younger kids( 2 to 5 years olds).

It was very loud with the ship forcing nearly everyone with children who wanted to hang out to one small area.  the hot tub situation was even worse.  Only two hot tubs on the entire ship were for kids.  there was a beautiful section in the back of the pool where the evening dance parties were held( which were fantastic) that had two hot tubs and a cool water fall to relax in, but again it was 'adults only".. this was very disheartening, since I took this trip to spend time with my children, but it was difficult.  the water slides had long longs and again restrictions, which you are not made aware of.  if your kids are under 100 pounds9 My 12 year only weighed 95 pounds, he could not go on the two fastest slides. ( again, they had a scale to weigh kids.  the lines were super long and I did not go on a beautiful ship to wait in long lines as I would in any hometown water park.. what you have to remember is that this cruise had 2 1/2 days at sea before we even hit an island.  I did not want my kids to hang out playing video games, as we went on this cruise as a family.  for those reasons, I would not recommend this cruse for families.  If by change your children at 18 or older the cruise is perfect.  the shore excursions were absolutely wonderful--the best part of the cruse.  we swam with dolphins, snorkeled, and played in pools of 30 foot clear blue water.  I do however think that in 7 days with only 3 island stops, where everyone wants to be on board and up top by the pools, adjustments have to be made.  Every person I talked to had the same complaint about the pools.

Large ship, too many people.however We were able to find quiet spot in an adult only area. Swimming pool way to small and crowded for the number of passengers.

Ship has secluded pay areas which were not offered to us pre cruise and we were unable to book once on board as there was no capacity.

Staff were excellent

Speciality dining was excellent. 

This is my 4th cruise and really enjoyed the freestyle concept of restaurant dining rather than assigned tables. Very modern. Ship well thought out, Cabin spacious. Great except for casino that allowed smoking we had to walk through daily.
