Review summary

This was our first vacation using NCL. We have traveled using other cruise lines and we were happy with Norwegian. We would consider traveling with you in the future.

Embarkation

Smooth transition from our bus transportation to the ship. Food was readily available when we got onto the Norwegian Gem. Our rooms were available and our luggage arrived within 2 hours. Amazing!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

The food was good but not outstanding, especially in the specialty restaurants. Cagneys was the best! Steak was tender and cooked just right. Staff at all restaurants were friendly and helpful.

Onboard Activities

We really enjoyed the variety of music throughout the ship. We spent a lot of time at Magnims, Poolside and at the Atrium. We played some of the games, enjoyed some dance parties and participated in poolside games

Entertainment

Wow! The musicals were outstanding! I was literally mesmerized by Terrance, the Hypnotist! The conedians were great. All the performers were excellent. Such a great variety of entertainment!

Service and Staff

All the staff were friendly, courteous and helpful. The "washy,washy, happy, happy girls were absolutely the best! Hashem Rosero made our experience at Tappenyaki absolutely fun. And we really enjoyed the meal he prepared for us.

Ship Quality

Once we found our way around the ship, it was relatively easy to get to our destination. Ship was clean and very well maintained. Especially glad that there was always access to antiseptic wash to ensure we stayed germ free.

Cabin / Stateroom

We could not afford an upgrade to an outside or balcony cabin which many of our friends had. Overall, the cabin was acceptable. I think had we left the single beds separated, it would have given us a bit more space to move about the cabin. We were not in the room that often so all in all it worked fine for our needs.
