Review summary

This was our 6th time on the NCL Gem, and like each time before it was awesome. The ship is medium size, which makes it easy to get around. It was recently refurbished, with most positive. The best part of the ship, is the staff. The crew go above and beyond. They are truly like coming home each time - they are family.

Obstructed side room - which is great since you get your bed on one side with a window looking at a life boat.

Ship tip

For example: Restaurants are extremely overpriced even for New York standards. Spinnaker Lounger too small to hold trivia,dance and contest shows. Smoking anywhere on board should be forbidden. Loudspeakers in sunbathing aft deck should be OFF!

Bliss may be larger because the removed the bowling alley .. Spinaker was carpets not sure about seating but probably with carpets being done ... Bar City was redone ... Buffet area.. New slide however I hear that hasn't been open pending inspection ... New carpet in some areas like the Haven suites and the Atrium which is the main lobby ..

Yes you can bring water New carpet new furniture I believe spinnaker was enlarged

Hi, we've cruised on the Gem once before in 2010. What upgrades/changes were done besides it losing the bowling alley? Also do you know if they allow you to bring a case of water on board?
