The Gem was appropriately named. It was a Gem! The crew were fantastic\, friendly\, helpful and everyone seemed to enjoy what they were doing from our wonderful room steward\, William to the cruise directors staff and even the Captain looked like he was a happy fella enjoying himself and his ship. The pier party in Nassau\, Bahamas was a true highlight. There were 2 other ships in port and I think they were jealous of the fun our ship's passengers and crew were having.

Food and Dining

We ate at 3 specialty restaurants and the food was GREAT! My favorite was Cagney's Steakhouse.

The size of the Gem was just right. Last year we cruised on the Breakaway and that was too crowded.

Cabin / Stateroom

My only complaint was that our balcony was not swept before we entered our room. It was fine by the next day and we enjoyed our balcony.

Pros: everything

Cons: it was over too soon

Recommends Norwegian Gem? Yes!
