Very Enjoyable Cruise

Sail Date: December 01, 2012

Reviewed: 3 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

This was our 3rd cruise with NCL, our 2nd out of NYC, & our 1st on the NCL Gem. Our 1st impression was a clean well laid out ship with lots of open spaces.

Pros: Clean, uncrowded, plenty to do for all ages

Cons: Extra charge dining, Need more time in ports

Recommends Norwegian Gem? Yes!

Ship Quality
Could not ask for more. plenty of room to roam, sit, or play.
Food and Dining
Overall food quality was good except for the lobster, 1/2 a tail, over cooked & tough.
The Buffet was at times crowded but not too bad. Plenty of variety for any pallet. Specialty restaurants VERY over priced, not worth an extra $50 per couple, I can get that at home.
Cabin / Stateroom
Plenty of room to unpack EVERYTHING, ask my wife. Having a coffee pot was a great idea. Hot morning coffee on the balcony, OMG. Great
Service and Staff
Staff couldn't have been more friendly. Always willing to help in any way. Our room steward always went above and beyond being helpful, anytime he saw us in the hallway he would ALWAYS ask, is everything O.K., or is there anything you need?
Entertainment
Always plenty to do for ALL ages, If you were board, it was your own fault. LOL
