Party Boat

Sail Date: June 01, 2013

Reviewed: 3 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Inside

The ship was beautiful. The pools were rather small, but it was nice to have one pool for the adults and one for the children. It was very clean and tidy. Even during our one day of rain there was lots of activities to do, but a nice mixture of being able to relax.

Pros: Free-Style Cruise

Cons: Party / Drink and get Trashed all the time atmosphere.

Recommends Norwegian Gem? No.

Ship Quality
In certain area's the decor was a little corny, but overall it was excellent. Felt like a first class experience all the way around.
Food and Dining
You will not find better food on the 7 seas. Many different places to eat, and most of them free. We ate at the French Bistro, for an additional cost, and it was well worth the money.
Cabin / Stateroom
Now, remember you are on a cruise and the rooms are small, but overall they were comfortable. The biggest issue of our room was the location. They would have parties on the pool deck - deck 12 - until midnight and we were on the 11th floor. The band was right on top of us, so until midnight our room was shaking and we were unable to sleep. Rather frustrating when you are exhausted from a day of activities.
Service and Staff
Most of the staff was very helpful and friendly. There are always a few bad apples in the bunch, but overall it was good.
Entertainment
Always plenty of stuff to do on the sea, or even in port. The issue that we had was the party atmosphere. We came on the cruise to relax and rest, not to party every night. If you are looking for a cruse to party and drink, then you will love it. But if you are looking for a cruse that is less party and more relaxing then stay away!
