a relaxing, funfilled cruise

Sail Date: January 01, 2013

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Inside

Nice features, good condition, but poor lighting in staterooms, for woman who are trying to do their hair and makeup.

Pros: Nice ship, good spa, easy to get around the ship, okay food, good ports

Cons: the samana tender boat had no life jackets and the workers went too fast and spoke no English. a man was injured on the tender boat and no one di9d anything. Bottom line, the seas were too rough, we should never have left the ship. In general, rude people in the buffets, not NCL's fault.

Recommends Norwegian Gem? Yes!

Ship Quality
Easy to famaliarize self with boat.
Food and Dining
Buffets were the best option, had lots of choices for all diets. althogh, lacked vegetarian sandwiches or wraps and very few quality desserts. They added flavored water and complimentary lemonade, but both were too sweet. I wish they didn't charge for everything extra.
Cabin / Stateroom
Poor lighting for women who are styling their hair and makeup application.
Service and Staff
Dancers were okay, nothing out of this world. Shows stay the same, if you've cruised a few times, eveything is the same. They should switch up their shows. How many times must we sit through the Newlywed game, Quest Family Feud, etc.
