Review summary

This was our second cruise on the Norwegian Gem and they have improved much in the 18 month since our first trip with them. The cruise director, Sinan, was our favorite ever! He was full of energy and kept us laughing. The first time we cruised on the Gem they had issues with disembarkation and we waited in line for 2 hours. Whatever was the trouble last time they certainly fixed it and we sailed right through the process (although we really wanted to turn around and get right back on). It was a wonderful time. We would have liked a little longer in port in Florida so that we could have stayed at Disney for a little longer.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Last time on the Gem they had a Hypnotist. He was very funny and we truly enjoyed his performances! Entertainment could have been better this time around.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
this was hard to rate because some of the staff were truly excellent while others were sub-par. Our housekeeping staff (10th floor Starboard) were unfriendly and forgot our Latitudes awards. Casino, Dining room and Cruise Director Staff were WAY above expectations and they truly made the trip special.

Cabin / Stateroom

We sailed on Royal Caribbean Voyager of the Seas a couple months ago and our Balcony statement room was considerably larger.

Pros: Relaxation

Cons: Not long enough in Port at Cape Canaveral to enjoy Disney World.
