2012 cruise

Sail Date: April 01, 2012

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Balcony

We enjoyed the cruise, but were quite taken back by the lack of parental supervision. Our children are adult teens - never would we let them run around like the kids on this cruise. We witnessed children just taking plates of food and never eating more than one bite from them. We even saw a 3 and 4 year old playing shuffleboard without a parent present......not the cruiseline fault, but next time we will definitely research to find a more adult friendly atmosphere - we felt our rights to enjoy quiet time were overruled by the kids

Pros: the upgraded dining options

Cons: children running around

Recommends Norwegian Gem? Yes!

Ship Quality
Cabin / Stateroom
a little small compared to other balcony staterooms we have had
singing/dancing really good - others average
Food and Dining
food quality quite good - we did not use the buffets, only sit down dining
Service and Staff
