NORWEGIAN GEM + BERMUDA = AWESOME CRUISE

Sail Date: September 01, 2011

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

We cruised The Gem to Bermuda on 9/18/11. What a great cruise!!! The Gem was a great ship. Easy to navigate and laid out nice. The whole crew was super! While we had rough seas our first two days, the ship held up well. I would suggest "The Patch" if you have problems with getting sea sick. Embarkation/Debarkation was a breeze!!! Food was plentiful from the time we stepped on until the time we stepped off! Bermuda was beautiful!!!! We took the "Island Drive" shore excursion. Highly recommended.

Pros: FREESTYLE OPTIONS. FRIENDLINESS OF THE CREW. THE FOOD.

Cons: DRINK PRICES. INTERNET FEES.

Recommends Norwegian Gem? Yes!

Entertainment
The entertainment was fine. Good music and funny comedy! The shows were well produced! Michael Blackwell, the ship's piano player in the lounges, did a superb job. There were plenty of activities to do each day.
Ship Quality
Clean, comfortable ship. Easy to get around. Very comfortable seating in the main theatre. Maintained very well. Plenty of places to shop.
Service and Staff
The whole crew was exceptionally friendly!! Our cabin steward, Eduardo, was the nicest steward we have had in all our 6 cruises! Armalyn and Aristotle, our favorite waiters in The Grand Pacific ding room, were simply the beast! Sinan, the cruise director, did a fantastic job!
Food and Dining
The food was outstanding!! Plenty of choices in The Grand Pacific dining room. Cagney's and Le Bistro were worth the extra money!!! The buffets were also excellent!!!! The freestyle dining options were very nice.
Cabin / Stateroom
Our stateroom was number 9662, catagory BC. It was clean and comfortable. A bit on the small side. I wouldn't want to share it with three people. The bed was SO comfortable!!!!!!!!
